#Usage

1. Look up the character

   Run klu <character> and turn to the edition you want. A Character Info works too.

2. Press 🖌️

   On a premium server Keqing adds 🖌️ for you. Anywhere else, add the reaction yourself. It works the same either way.

3. Type a frame

   Type the frame's name in the channel within a minute, such as Brass or Budokai.

The result shows the frame's name and category, and how long it took to render. Press Retry within two minutes to try another frame on the same character and edition. It opens a new prompt and leaves your finished preview in the channel, so you can compare results. The new prompt gives you a minute to type another name.

• Anyone can press 🖌️; each person gets their own tester. Only they can type into it or press its buttons.
• One at a time: pressing 🖌️ again in the same channel replaces your open tester. Finished previews stay, but their tester buttons are removed.
• Counted: each successfully rendered frame adds a test to that edition's Most Tested Frames, including morphs. Duplicate names in one answer count once; missing names and failed renders don't count.

#Comparing frames on premium servers

Type up to ten frame names separated by commas into the same 🖌️ tester:

Keqing puts the frames side by side, five per row, with each frame's name underneath. Retry lets you compare another set on the same character and edition.

Only the first ten names are used, and repeated names or aliases for the same frame appear once. Names that don't match are listed under Not found; the matching frames still render. If one frame fails to render, its place is marked in the grid and the others still appear.

On a server without premium, the tester uses only the first name in your answer. Testing one frame is still free.

#Typing a frame name

The whole name is needed, but capitals don't matter and a trailing frame is ignored, so brass frame works. Some frames have a short name too, like Blossom for Cherry Blossom.

You have one minute and up to three attempts to enter a valid request. An invalid colour or an answer with no matching frames uses an attempt. After three unsuccessful attempts, the tester closes. Press 🖌️ again to start over.

#Adding a morph

Type a colour after the frame, like Brass #FF0000, then pick a blend from the menu within a minute: hue, multiply, color, darken, lighten or color-burn. The Morph Tester page shows what each one does.

For a premium comparison, put one six-digit hex colour after the whole list, such as Brass, Arcana, Raven #FF0000. Your chosen colour and blend apply to every frame in the preview.

#Dyeing the preview

Some frames get a 🎨 Dye button next to Retry. Press it, then run Karuta's kv $<dye code> in the channel within two minutes. Keqing posts the frame in that dye as a new message, glow included. Regular and Mystic dyes both work. Dye previews are free while in beta.

If more than one frame in your comparison can be dyed, the button says Dye all. One kv applies the same dye to every eligible frame and posts them together in a new grid. Frames without an approved dye area are left out. If only one frame is eligible, the button says Dye and previews that frame alone.

• Approved frames only: the button appears once a frame's dye area has been checked and approved. Frames still being learned don't get it.
• No morphs: a preview with a morph colour has no Dye button, since the morph already recolours the whole frame.
• Try another dye: the result has a 🎨 Try another dye button for two minutes. Each dye comes as a new message, so you can compare them.
• Your dye only: Keqing takes the first kv you run. Someone else's kv is ignored.
• Keep testing: after the dye step finishes or closes, the original preview's Retry and dye buttons return with a fresh two-minute window.
• Partial results: if a frame can't be dyed, it is left out and listed under Could not dye. The other dyed frames still appear.

The dye is painted onto Keqing's own frame art, so the shading can differ a little from what Karuta draws on your card.

Every frame is in the frame catalogue, named and grouped by category, bit material and release. aframes links there too. Open a frame to copy its name.

#When it doesn't work

• Frame not found: No frame has that name. Check it in aframes
• Check your input: The colour isn't six hex digits, such as #FF0000
• Frame tester closed: A minute passed without a valid request, three attempts failed, or no blend was picked within a minute
• Frame tester replaced: You opened a newer tester in this channel
• Preview unavailable: The preview couldn't render. Press Retry to try again
• Frame tester unavailable: The server switched frame testing off in this channel
• Dye preview closed: Two minutes passed without your kv
• Dye preview cancelled: You pressed Cancel, or opened a newer tester
• Finish your current dye preview in this channel first: You already have a dye preview waiting for a kv here

#Turning it off in a channel

Choose the channels under Frame Testers on the Feature restrictions page of the dashboard, then Save changes. It covers every frame tool: 🖌️, 🎖️, atopframes, agetframes and atestframes. Keqing stops adding 🖌️ there, and a 🖌️ added by hand gets Frame tester unavailable. The Dye button follows the dye tester's setting for the channel, which matches frame testing unless adyetesting changes it.
